Who does the carrying
Most consignments on this corridor are sent by people rather than by procurement departments. A family sending goods home. A trader restocking a shop. Someone moving a car across the Atlantic. Those senders do not want to assemble a supply chain out of a forwarder, a customs broker, and a delivery company. They want one company that answers the telephone, takes the consignment, and says when it will arrive.
That is the shape Grandbelle has been built to have. The consignment is received at the New York warehouse, consolidated with anything else going the same way, documented for export, carried, cleared on arrival in Lagos, and delivered to a named address. One reference number covers all of it, and the same two offices are responsible at each end.
What that means in practice
It means the answer to "where is it now" is a status rather than a person's recollection. It means the answer to "how much" arrives before a payment and before an account. It means the answer to "how long" is printed on the page rather than promised on a call. None of that is a technology problem. The live site already has a login, a cargo manager, and a working tracking form. The problem is that none of them is where a visitor meets them.
